Little Splashers

Pre-Survival Introductory Classes

Little Splashers

Ages: 6 months to beginning walkers

1x per week • 30 min class

This is the beginning of your baby’s water experience! Infants 6 months to beginning walkers, along with a parent or caregiver, will be introduced to the aquatic environment – splashing, bonding, and making new friends. This program is the precursor to swim-float-survive, and gets your baby comfortable with our swim school, staff and of course, the water!

Infant & Toddler Survival

Ages: walking to 4 years

3 to 4x per week
15 min lesson

Gentle lessons teach young children essential survival swim skills using the swim-float-swim method. Kids build confidence and water safety quickly through short, consistent sessions.

Youth
Survival

Ages: walking to 4 years

2 to 3x per week
15 min lesson

Beginner swimmers learn aquatic survival skills and the swim-float-swim sequence for safety and independence. Lessons progress into breath control and basic technique.

Maintenance Lessons

Ages: walking and up

1 or 2x per week
15 min lesson

Private lessons to maintain and strengthen survival swim skills and water confidence. Ideal for ongoing practice or refreshing skills before summer.

Fun Groups

Post-survival swim

Aqua Babies

Ages: 12 months to 2.5 years

1 x per week
30 min class

A parent-assisted class for children who have completed survival swim training. Learn how to safely play in the water while reinforcing water safety and confidence.

Fun Groups

Ages: 12 months to 2.5 years

Group lessons for children who have mastered survival skills. Kids build confidence, independence, and have fun while continuing to develop their swimming abilities.

Transition

A bridge between private lessons and stroke school, building on survival swim foundations. Swimmers improve distance, breath control, and overall technique.

Stroke School

From first strokes to competitive foundations

STROKE-N-FLOAT

Ages: 4 years +

1 or 2x per week

Proper breath control, freestyle, backstroke, kicking and core rotation

RIPPLES

Ages: 4 years +

1 or 2x per week
30 min class

Freestyle, refined to include proper side breathing, backstroke refined, and introduction to dolphin kick and whip kick.

Waves

Ages: 4 years +

1 or 2x per week
30 min class

Flip turns, introduction to breaststroke, butterfly, and racing starts/finishes.

Tsunamis

Ages: 4 years +

1 or 2x per week
30 min class

Butterfly and breaststroke, introduction to racing strategies, and refinement of starts/turns/finishes for all competitive strokes.

How do I know which program is right for my child?
At SwimKids, we prioritize safety first. Before joining group classes, all students must demonstrate the ability to surface, roll to float, breathe, and swim to the nearest exit. View our lesson progression here.
That’s very common! Our instructors use calm, supportive methods to help children feel safe. Most students relax and engage within the first few lessons.
Anytime! Our heated indoor pool operates year-round and offers continuous scheduling, so your child can begin whenever you’re ready.
